Ray has been practising Tai Chi for 50 years and joined Legato Tai Chi in 2014. Ray’s experience not only spans years but covers all the most well-known styles: Yang, Chen, Sun, Wu, Wu/Hao and Dong Yue. And now 12 years practising the Wudang style. Ray spent many years as an instructor with prominent schools in Australia and travelled to China often for training, grading and competitions. Ray holds gradings with the Chinese Wushu Association.
Extending his resume to include the Wudang style, Ray has travelled with the Legato team to attend the opening of the Wudang San Feng Pai Temple in Fu Quan in 2017. The team was awarded first place after demonstrating the Yin Water Form at the opening Ceremony competition.
While Ray has stepped back from a formal teaching role, he still shares his knowledge and expertise with students in every class. Ray continues to learn the Wudang style with Legato Tai Chi and is an enthusiastic member of the Wudang Wushu Australia Melbourne Promotion Centre organising committee
