Journey to Wudang

The Wudang Mountain.

It’s such an amazing place to be, but especially so if you’re a Tai Chi or martial arts practitioner. There are ancient temples to practice in, great schools for training, weapon and uniform shops, local festivals to celebrate, wonderful people to meet and the Wudang International Tai Chi Competition.

It’s always good to know the cultural dos and don’ts in these places before you put your foot in it... So if you’re planning a trip to China – in a plane or from your armchair - come along to our monthly get-together of the WWAM Association and pick up some hot tips and good practices. We’ll be discussing everything from temples to taxis, swords to street food and all the tales in between. We’ll also be teaching a Wudang Animal Qigong form and the Wudang 9, a foundational Tai Chi form written by Yang Qunli and widely practiced in the Wudang Mountains.

If you want to know more about competing, we will help you with that, too. We’ll be taking a team to the next competition and there’s room for you if you’d like to come! (as a competitor or a spectator) We would love to show you what competition is about in Wudang. It’s more fun than you may realise!

Full details for 2026 International Wudang Tai Chi Fellowship Conference and Competition will be available soon. Please ‘express your interest’ and we’ll keep you posted with the details of the trip and entry to the competition.
